A Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system is an advanced water treatment process designed to eliminate liquid waste from industrial operations, resulting in zero discharge of wastewater into the environment. These cutting-edge plants use a series of advanced technologies to concentrate solid waste and recover and produce clean, reusable water. The ZLD Process: From Waste to Resource

The ZLD process is a multi-stage approach that ensures maximum water recovery and proper waste management. Our systems follow a logical progression:

  • Filtration: This initial step involves advanced filtration techniques, such as reverse osmosis, to separate a large volume of clean water from the contaminated stream. This is a critical step in reducing the load on subsequent stages.

  • Evaporation: The concentrated liquid (brine) that remains after filtration is then sent to an evaporator. This thermal process uses heat to vaporize the water, which is then condensed and returned as pure water for reuse.

  • Crystallization: In the final stage, the remaining highly concentrated slurry is directed to a crystallizer. Here, any residual water is evaporated, causing the dissolved solids to crystallize. These solid crystals are then dewatered and safely disposed of.

This integrated process allows for a remarkable 90-95% water recovery, making our ZLD systems both environmentally friendly and economically sound.
